How to reference data
Publications making use of data downloaded from LXCat should reference the site as well as the publications, if any, listed in each contributor’s database. Original references should be used where possible and reference must be made to the specific database(s) from which data were retrieved, the LXCat site address, and the retrieval date. Example:

This is the general reference that allows, using the Time Machine to identify uniquely the data as they were retrieved from LXCat. In any publication, this date, which is present in the header of the downloaded files should be given. General references (e.g., publications, website address,…) are given by contributors in the description of the database under “How to reference” and these should always be cited. Within any given database, specific data are classified within data groups for which additional references may be given by the contributors in the headers of these data groups. Those references should also be cited when using the dataset. At the level of individual cross-sections, additional citations to papers may be found in some datasets. How to reference text documents
Publications and conference proceedings should be referenced according to journal specifications. All unpublished material on this site should be referenced as "private communication" with the date given on the document, the author's name, date, and the retrieved date. Example:
